ReplyDeleteAt the start of the lecture when I still had some enthusiasm towards Jack's ideas
2. At what moment in the class this week did you feel most distanced from what was happening?
When I realised that it was going to be a whole day of sat listening to a man talk rubbish that I didn't really care about or need to hear. He was talking about being positive and not thinking negatively or using negative words but then put the whole auditorium down by saying you're going to have to work with me on this if you want to get anywhere, like he was the only opportunity out there. He tried to interact with the creative students but after he'd asked questions he just carried on with what he was doing, not tailoring the speech to anything he had been told about working freelance and not necessarily needing to go through all the expected routes of uni etc to get work.
3. What action that anyone (teacher or student) took in class this week did you find most affirming and helpful?
Listening to the lecture ensured me that if I didn't get anywhere in the field I am aiming for I could always talk rubbish to hundreds of people and make a fortune.

How anyone could think that a whole days lecture would enthuse people

That college had paid money (that I think should be spent on learning resources) for a man to tell us stuff in a really patronising way that we could learn in a self help book if we really felt the need to.

Never it was interesting, i felt that the lesson was fundamental to make me realize how to not make errors.

The guy was very intuitive with his dialect. This mode him more enjoyable to listen to.

nothing, it was all very basic and things we already knew. it just took time to release these thoughts from my mind [which is in my left leg].

Jack Black's views on that saying not all of us is our right brain of creative. I disagree I use my right brain more than my left brain as I can hardly do maths and science. Also nearly fell sleep.

How patronising he was .

ReplyDeleteAt the start when we were told what it was about. i wasnt really that interested but thought it might be useful

after about 30 minutes and then for the rest of the shouting at us. I could only take it until the 1st break and I had to go back to college. what put me off was him talking about how by thinking we can prevent cancer or even have a full recovery from cancer. if you know people that have had cancer then this is very incnsidirate and crazy. The place in germany that he runs sounds like a cult. who is this man? And if he mentions how much money he has made and riped of corpoarate people anpother time i would scream...i felt ripped off too :(

Nothing. A complete waste of time and if i didnt leave early i would have missed a days study. Who ever organisd this should have saw through this mess and realised that he is only selling a single minded crazy idea.

Jack Black - crazy and rude. He also was swearing. I'm not allowed to swear in college why can he?

why the college made us go and if they have been to see this they couldn't see what a con-man he is - worrying.
